A 16-year-old high school student is dead following a shooting in Springfield.
The Southeast High School student was shot and killed Thursday morning in the 2300 block of Taylor Avenue near Dreamland Park.
Police are questioning multiple individuals who are considered to be persons of interest.
The Sangamon County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the Southeast High School student as 16-year-old as Keyon Day of Springfield.
Day was pronounced dead at HSHS St. Johns Hospital after being transported from the scene of the shooting.
