IDNR to hold class on deer this Friday evening with hunting season nearly upon Illinois community

The Illinois DNR is encouraging folks to come to learn about deer from an expert on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Dan Skinner, Illinois Department of Natural Resources forest wildlife program manager, will talk about the history of white-tailed deer in Illinois at the Lincoln Memorial Garden, 2301 E. Lake Shore Dr. in Springfield.

Skinner will talk about basic deer biology and life history, current deer management and contemporary challenges posed by Chronic Wasting Disease. The event is free
