WMAY’s Last Night-in-Sports Report: 07/25/2023

The St. Louis Cardinals scored 5 runs in the top of the 9th inning last night in Arizona in route to a come-from-behind 10-6 victory. Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O’Neil both drove in 3 runs to lead the Card’s offense. Nolan Arenado also went deep for the Cards in the victory. Cards and Diamondbacks battle again tonight in Arizona.

Both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox had the day off yesterday; the two teams will face each other tonight at Guaranteed Rate Field as part of the Crosstown Classic. The first pitch for Cubs vs Sox tonight is scheduled for 7:10p CT.

Concerning minor league baseball: after a day off yesterday, the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes host the Alton River Dragons tonight at Robin Roberts Stadium. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30P CT.

In NFL news, the New York Giants and RB Saquon Barkley have agreed on a 1-year deal worth up to $11 million.
