The City Tournament kicked off yesterday at the Bank of Springfield Center and the whole city is ready for the boys and girls basketball showdown between Springfield, Southeast, Lanphier, and Sacred Heart-Griffin.
SHG has won both the boys’ and girls’ tournaments outright since the 2021 tournament was canceled due to COVID-19, and they’re looking to continue their dominant run.
Today, the boys tip off. Southeast will play SHG, and Springfield will play Lanphier. There are four games tomorrow and tip-off will start at 4 p.m. On Saturday four more games will be played until a city champion is crowned.
