The official results from last month’s election have now been certified by the State Board of Elections.

The numbers confirm that Illinois voters approved a state constitutional amendment protecting collective bargaining rights. The amendment received more than 53-percent “yes” votes out of all ballots cast.

Turnout statewide was just over 51-percent, which was still the second-best showing for a midterm election in the past 20 years. Early voting made up 39-percent of the ballots cast this year, compared to 34-percent in 2018… and vote-by-mail doubled from the last midterm, making up 18-percent of total ballots, compared to nine-percent four years ago.
