Central Illinois is going to get one last Leonard Bowl.
Sacred Heart-Griffin’s football team and longtime coach Ken Leonard will face Rochester, coached by Ken’s son Derek, this coming Friday in the Class 4A state semifinals. Both teams advanced with wins over the weekend.
It will be the last meeting of father and son on opposite coaching sidelines, as Ken Leonard is retiring at the end of this season. The Cyclones are unbeaten and currently the Number 2 seed in Class 4A, while the 11-and-1 Rockets are Number 4.
