Red Hot Chili Peppers are certified rock royalty so why not get another award on the mantle place for the funky munks from California? MTV honored the Chili Peppers with their Global Icon Award at Sunday’s telecast which saw the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers perform ‘Black Summer’ off of 2022’s ‘Unlimited Love’ album and the classic ‘Can’t Stop’. They were in true form and did you catch drummer Chad Smith paying tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins? The transition into the riff really rolling on ‘Can’t Stop’ was like watching the sun rise in the morning.
