The Sangamon County Coroner has identified the man who died when he was struck by a train Friday night.
41-year-old Francis Smithers died in the incident at Ninth and Converse around 9:30pm. An autopsy determined that Smithers died of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Springfield Police are continuing their investigation of his death.
