SPD continue Tuesday morning Sangamon Towers shooting investigation that left two injured at Springfield Memorial Hospital

The Springfield Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people injured. On Tuesday at 12:50 a.m., officers responded to Sangamon Towers, 424 N. 4th Street for a report of two people shot.

Upon arrival, a 24-year-old male was found in the front lobby with two gunshot wounds. The other victim, a 25-year-old female, was located inside an apartment in Sangamon
Towers with two gunshot wounds.

Both victims were taken by ambulance to Springfield Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Officials noted both that their injuries are non-life-threatening and that this remains an ongoing investigation
