Springfield’s District 186 taking steps to counteract negative and addictive qualities of social media

The Springfield School District is taking action to fight back against addictive social media features.

On Monday night the 186 Board of Education voted unanimously to join a class action lawsuit with Wagstaff and Cartmell Law Firm.

Superintendent Jennifer Gill says while social media can be a great tool for connection its causing major issues in schools.

Superintendent Gill says the district already bans social media threats and sharing videos of fights or violence in District 186 Schools.
