Springfield City Officials to take part in special Tuesday night USPS public meeting ahead of Wednesday’s rescheduled council meeting

Springfield city officials have scheduled a special meeting of the City Council in conjunction with the U.S. Postal Service’s public meeting on planned changes for local service.

The special city council meeting will be held tomorrow night, Wednesday, at 5:45 at the Municipal Building as per usual.

The Postal Service special meeting will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The Postal Service plan is set to turn 58 processing and distribution centers in smaller Illinois communities into local mail processing centers.
