Last week’s cell phone outages on AT&T’s network affected millions of customers nationwide and shut down Springfield’s complimentary Wi-Fi service.

The outages also led to intermittent interruptions in Springfield’s non-emergency phone lines.

The outages did not affect emergency services, and AT&T’s cell phone service was later fully restored after being out for most of the day.

The company has since given affected individuals credits for their inconvenience; the cause of the outages remains under investigation.
