A very lucky Illinoisan spent 10 dollars on a scratch-off ticket and won the grand prize of $250,000. Not a bad deal at all!

The $250,000 Crossword winning scratch-off ticket was purchased at Thornton’s gas station at 3001 Wabash Ave. in Springfield. As it goes, this is also a victory for Thornton as the store walks away with $2,500 in cash!

I’ve always thought about what I would do if I won a large sum of money like this.

Fifteen years ago, I’m sure my choices would’ve been a lot more concerning than my choices today – however, I do think about this more than I should.

For me, I would travel. There is so much of the world to see, and that money would be a great vehicle to get me there!

I can guarantee you that the winner of the $250,000 is feeling pretty good about that $10 purchase of theirs right about now.

Founded in 1974, the Illinois Lottery has contributed over $24 billion – since 1985 – to the state’s Common School Fund to assist K-12 public schools, as well as hundreds of millions of dollars to the Capital Projects Fund and to special causes.
