Gov. JB Pritzker is crediting the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act for creating a favorable environment for low-emission cars.

According to registration data from the Illinois Secretary of State, there are 44% more electric vehicles in Illinois than a year ago.

The state has earmarked nearly $13 million for fast-charging ports and offers up to $4,000 in rebates for Illinois residents who buy electric cars.
