Sangamon County residents who live outside the city of Springfield now have large item pick-up and drop-off services available. The county launched the program this week in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Eligible residents can schedule pick-up or drop-off of large items not typically accommodated by regular waste management services.

Eligible items include furniture, appliances, mattresses, and other bulky household objects. Restricted items include hazardous materials, tires, TVs, and other electronic goods. A complete list of eligible and restricted items can be found at SangamonIL.Gov/Habitat.

Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County also provides Springfield residents with an identical large item pick-up program. Residents must schedule pick-ups and drop-offs in advance by contacting Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County at 217-523-2710, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m, or by scheduling service online at habitatsangamon.vonigo.com/external/.
