Dick Butkus is dead at the age of 80. Butkus was called by Sports Illustrated “The Most Feared Man in the Game” during a playing career spent entirely with the Chicago Bears.
A native of Chicago, Butkus played linebacker at the University of Illinois before being drafted by the Bears in 1965. He then pursued a career as an actor, broadcaster, and pitchman.
He was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame and made the Pro Bowl 8 out of the 9 seasons he played
