The United Auto Workers has expanded its strike. The union is now striking spare parts warehouses in 20 states across the country run by GM and Stellantis.

The union’s strategy is to increase the number of struck facilities gradually – should they believe negotiations aren’t advancing adequately. Ford and the UAW have made progress on some issues, such as the elimination of wage tiers and the reinstitution of Cost of Living Adjustments.

In Illinois, additional work stoppages were called for at the GM parts center in Bolingbrook and the Stellantis parts center in Naperville.
