The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that deck patching and joint repairs on the southbound Illinois 29 bridge over the Sangamon River between Springfield and Rochester will begin Monday, Aug.14.

One lane of traffic in the southbound lanes will be maintained during the work project. IDOT says that motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for trips through this area.  Work is expected to be completed in mid-October.
