While the whole of the United States was anxiously watching what would happen concerning the UPS, over 300,000 of its workers, and their soon-to-expire contract, a last-minute innovation seems to have prevented a work stoppage.

According to the Teamsters themselves, “The overwhelmingly lucrative contract raises wages for all workers, creates more full-time jobs, and includes dozens of workplace protections and improvements. Rank-and-file UPS Teamsters sacrificed everything to get this country through a pandemic and enabled UPS to reap record-setting profits. Teamster labor moves America.”

Wage increases, more new jobs, vehicle air conditioning for applicable trucks, and other new safety and health protocols are to be included in the package – which the union itself is set to vote upon in August.
