Downtown Springfield streets will be a little more colorful this weekend.
The Springfield Art Association is putting on its annual Paint the Street event Saturday, starting at 11 am.
Participants can reserve a six-foot-by-six-foot square on Washington Street downtown and then paint it in whatever design or pattern they choose.
The event is open to both professional and amateur artists. The $40 fee includes the space on the street, paint, brushes, a T-shirt, and a sponsor goodie bag.
