Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul is asking a major retailer to reverse its earlier decision related to Pride Month activities.

Raoul joined 14 other attorneys general in a letter to Target after the retail giant decided to remove some Pride-themed merchandise from its shelves.

Raoul contends Target caved in to an anti-LGBTQ backlash, which he says is part of an escalating series of politically-motivated attacks on the gay and transgender communities.

Raoul says he understands Target wanting to protect its employees and customers from hostile or even violent reaction to the displays, he says removing items in response to the backlash sends a message that bullying and intimidation work.
