WMAY’s Last Night-in-Sports Report: 06/15/2023

Another rough day for the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch yesterday as the Cards blew a 5-0 lead and fell to the visiting San Francisco Giants in 10 innings 8-5 in the final. Tommy Edman homered and drove in 4 for the Cards in the contest. Steven Matz took the loss for the Cards. Matz is now 0-7 on the season. The Cards are off today and will be in New York tomorrow to start a series with the Mets.

Mike Tauchman, Seiya Suzuki, Ian Happ, and Dansby Swanson all drove in 2 as the Chicago Cubs defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates at Wrigley last night 10-6 in the final. Drew Smyly picked up the win on the mound for the Cubs. Cubs and Pirates wrap up their series tonight at Wrigley.

Jake Burger homered twice, and Luis Robert went deep once as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Dodgers in LA last night 8-4 the final. Reynaldo Lopez picked up the win in relief for the Sox. Sox and Dodgers wrap up their series tonight in LA.

In Minor League Baseball the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes fell to the Thrillsville Thrillbilles 4-1 in the final. The Shoes host the Jackson Rockabillys tonight at Robin Roberts Stadium.
