WWE legend The Iron Sheik has died

WWE Hall of Famer the Iron Sheik has passed away at 81. Remembered as one of the greatest villains in history of pro wrestling  who infamously lost the WWE World title to Hulk Hogan in Madison Square Garden that launched the ‘Hulkamnia’ boom era of the ’80s. QLZ’s Kevin ‘Heff’ Kellam was able to remember this legend with Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Bill Apter who was close the Sheik in his outstanding career through the decades.

This followed a challenging childhood in a poor village in rural Iran where Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri would go on to be of the greatest legitimate wrestlers in the country, representing Iran on the world stage, and serving a private body guard to the daughter of the Shah of Iran before leaving the region for the United States.  Sheik broke into the pro wrestling ranks in the midwest with Verne Gagne’s AWA in Minnesota where trained for the sports entertainment of pro wrestling with fellow all-time greats like ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair and Ricky ‘the Dragon’ Steamboat.
