All Illinois counties are at low levels of COVID hospitalizations, as the state implements new methods of tracking the impact of the virus.
Since the end of the declared public health emergency earlier this month, state and federal officials are now tracking COVID through hospital admission rates and deaths.
All counties are currently within the lowest threshold – 10 or fewer COVID hospitalizations per 100,000 people over a seven-day period.
Sangamon County did report one recent COVID-related death, bringing the local toll since the start of the pandemic to 454.
