Honors have been handed out for Educator of the Year and Administrator of the Year in District 186.
The annual awards are presented in conjunction with Horace Mann Insurance. This year’s Educator of the Year is Kathy Fox, a fourth-grade teacher at Fairview Elementary School. Fox has worked for District 186 for nearly 20 years.
She receives $1,400 and a crystal owl, while four finalists for the award get $250 each.
The Administrator of the Year honor went to Alicia Miller, an assistant principal at Lanphier High School, who received $500 and a crystal award.
This year marks 35 years for the Educator of the Year Award through Horace Mann.
