In their final meeting before three new City Council members are seated, Springfield aldermen will be asked to approve a couple of ordinances on emergency passage Tuesday.

One of the measures is a resolution declaring the city’s continued support for tax increment financing districts.

Mayor Jim Langfelder’s office says the Illinois Municipal League recommends that cities approve such resolutions to discourage lawmakers from tampering with TIF laws.

Another ordinance up for emergency passage would provide $88,000 in community development block grant funds to pay for urgent roof repairs at the Kidzeum downtown.
