The city of Springfield says spots are still available for the upcoming household hazardous waste drop-off event.
Because the event is co-sponsored by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, it is open to any Illinois resident, whether or not they live within the city limits.
You must request a voucher from the city in advance to participate in the May 6 event at the Illinois State Fairgrounds.
Crews will collect a variety of potentially hazardous products, from pesticides and weed killers to old gasoline and used motor oil.
