Construction projects continue to create disruptions for Springfield drivers.
In addition to the ongoing closure of Madison and Jefferson Streets for the railroad relocation project, the State Capitol renovation project will mean another road closure Monday. Monroe will be closed from Pasfield to Second Street to accommodate the work; that closure is scheduled to last only one day.
But another long-term closure is on the horizon. Starting May 1, Stanford Avenue will be closed from 11th Street to Fox Bridge Road; that closure will last until August 2024.
