The developers of a planned sports complex at Legacy Pointe will go back before the Springfield City Council later this month with a revised proposal for the project.

Mayor Jim Langfelder says the development group will be seeking slightly more funding from the city as it deals with higher borrowing and construction costs.

It has also adjusted the timeline of construction, with plans to work on both indoor and outdoor facilities simultaneously, instead of in phases.

If aldermen approve the revised plan, ground could be broken on the sports complex in May; construction could take a year or longer.
