Auto racing returns to Central Illinois this weekend with the season openers at the Lincoln and Macon Speedways.

It’s the 20th season at Lincoln Speedway, located at the Logan County Fairgrounds.

There will be several races Friday night, including DIRTcars and midget cars.

The grandstand opens at 5 pm, and racing gets underway at 7 pm; Saturday marks the opening of Macon Speedway under new ownership.

The day will include practice sessions and qualifying, along with an autograph session with drivers, before racing begins around 7:30 pm; Macon Speedway is located nine miles south of Decatur, just off of U.S. Route 51.
