A Sangamon County judge has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate for a slot on the federal bench.
Judge Colleen Lawless will serve as a district court judge for the Central District of Illinois, replacing Sue Myerscough, who announced last year that she would be moving to senior status upon approval of her successor.
Lawless has been an associate judge in Sangamon County since 2019, and worked in private practice in Springfield before that.
