The Illinois State Fair is making some changes to its schedule of theme days.

This year’s fair is returning to a full day of events on opening day, Thursday, August 10th, which will be the new date for County Fairs and Harness Racing Day.

Agriculture Day, which had been on the Tuesday of fair week, has been moved to Friday, August 11th – fair officials say that will allow young exhibitors to take part without having to worry about missing school.

The Tuesday of the fair has been designated “Twosday,” with $2 admission for seniors and adults.

And the Governor’s Sale of Champions will now take place on Governor’s Day, Wednesday, August 16th.
