The Teamsters have gone on strike against one of Decatur’s major employers.
Local 916 is striking against Archer Daniels Midland over wages and benefits. WAND-TV reports the union is seeking a new contract with a 12-percent wage increase over the next three years to keep up with inflation.
ADM says it has offered a fair and competitive contract, but the Teamsters accuse the company of failing to bargain in good faith.
