The company that is planning to build a CO2 pipeline through Sangamon and other Central Illinois counties has withdrawn its petition before state regulators… but plans to refile next month.
The Sangamon County Board and a number of local residents had raised concerns about the safety of the project, which was intended to transport the CO2 to a sequestration site in Christian County… even though that exact site has not yet been determined.
After withdrawing its petition before the Illinois Commerce Commission, Navigator Heartland Greenway indicates that it intends to submit a revised application in February.
