The local public-private partnership for economic development says 2022 was a very good year… and 2023 has the potential to be even bigger.

The Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance held its annual meeting Friday. President and CEO Ryan McCrady says last year saw increases in the local work force and in the wages and income earned by those workers.

And he says big things are on the horizon for the year ahead, with progress expected on major projects like the Scheels Legacy Pointe sports complex, the redevelopment of the Pillsbury Mills site, and big energy projects like EmberClear and the Double Black Diamond solar farm.
