Organizers of First Night Springfield hope people will return to the New Year’s Eve tradition after a two-year disruption caused by COVID.
The alcohol-free celebration of the arts went virtual in 2020, and was canceled at the last minute in 2021 because of the omicron surge. First Night is a main fundraiser for the Springfield Area Arts Council, and organizers say supporting the event also supports arts programs year round.
Events begin Saturday afternoon at the Hoogland Center for the Arts. Tickets are available at the Hoogland box office and at hcfta.org.
