United States Men’s soccer star Christian Pulisic sacrificed his body (specifically his nether regions) as he scored a deciding goal for USA to advance the team into the next round against Iran earlier this week. USMNT now faces the favored Netherlands team tomorrow in the knockout stage tomorrow.

“I mean, it’s a pelvic contusion. … I didn’t, like, get hit in the balls,” Pulisic said during Thursday’s press conference in Qatas according to CBS Sports. “I’m all right. It was very painful. That bone is there for a reason, to protect you, I think. I hit it well. It was sore, but like I said, I’m getting better.” Pulisic has been cleared to compete but he is still dealing with the injury. It is unclear how much time he will play in the gam and some speculation if he comes off the bench.
