A Springfield man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for attempting to entice a minor into sexual activity.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 61-year-old Stacey Furlow engaged in online discussions with a person that he believed to be 15 years old. Despite being informed of the person’s age, Furlow engaged in sexual discussions with the person and sent inappropriate pictures of himself, and then attempted to arrange a meeting with the child. When Furlow showed up for that meeting, he was arrested.

He was convicted in a jury trial in June on several sex charges.
