The nonprofit group trying to rehabilitate the former Benedictine University/Ursuline Academy campus is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of vandals who struck a building on the site this week.
Graffiti was spraypainted on the exterior walls of the former Becker Library Thursday night. Tony Libri of Preservation, Inc., says police are reviewing available surveillance camera footage and checking other leads in an effort to identify suspects. The group hopes to redevelop the buildings for a variety of uses.
While there is no specific plan yet for the library building, Libri says it would make an excellent training facility or a banquet and reception hall.
