Illinois politicians are continuing to react to President Biden’s proposal this week to forgive a portion of student loan debt for people making $125,000 a year or less.

Republican candidate for attorney general Thomas DeVore contends Biden’s move is unconstitutional, but he also calls it “grossly unfair” to require others to foot the bill for people who can’t pay off their loans.

Meanwhile, GOP U.S. Senate nominee Kathy Salvi  also tweeted that the loan forgiveness program is unfair… prompting her opponent, Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth, to tweet a link showing that Salvi’s law firm had a $113,000 pandemic relief loan forgiven by the federal government last year.
