More details are emerging about the $400,000 grant that will allow for major renovations at a Springfield park.
The funding from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be combined with Springfield Park District matching funds.
The total $800,000 project at Kiwanis Park on Stanton Avenue will include a new playground, a loop walking path, a shelter and bathroom, expansion of the parking lot, and upgrades to athletic fields.
