Republican candidate for governor Darren Bailey is getting involved in a local state senate primary.
Bailey has endorsed challenger Don DeBolt in the Republican primary against the GOP incumbent, Steve McClure, in the 54th Senate District.
Bailey is leading in most recent polls in the Republican primary for governor. He says he’s backing DeBolt because McClure voted in favor of a gas tax increase to provide funds for a major infrastructure package.
