District 186 has wrapped up a challenging school year that saw COVID-19 continue to have an impact on both students and staff.

Since last August, more than 35-hundred District 186 students and nearly 700 staffers tested positive for the virus. The biggest peak came in January, when the district saw more than 100 new student cases a day several times.

After leveling off in March and April, cases began to surge again in May and June, but not as badly as last winter. There were more than 50 confirmed student cases in the last seven days.
