The latest poll in the race for Illinois governor shows Aurora Mayor Richard Irvin with a substantial lead in the six-way Republican primary.
Capitol Fax reports the survey was conducted last weekend by Cor Strategies. It gives Irvin 33-percent of the vote, with Darren Bailey coming in second at 21-percent. Jesse Sullivan is at 10-percent, with the other three contenders in single digits. Irvin’s strongest showing is in the Chicago suburbs… but Irvin also leads among Downstate Republicans, even though that was seen as a Bailey stronghold.
The poll has a margin of error of just under plus-or-minus four-percent.
