Finalists have been named for the annual Educator of the Year awards through District 186 and Horace Mann.
Five Springfield public school teachers will compete for the top honor at next month’s awards ceremony. The finalists are Jill Borah of Grant Middle School… David Curry of Butler Elementary… Abbey Dirksen of Southeast High School… Kari Lutchka of Jane Addams Elementary… and Missy Netznik of Wilcox Elementary. In addition, there are three finalists for Administrator of the Year… Karon Durrett with District 186 Student Support Services… Ken Gilmore of Ridgely Elementary School… and Cody Trigg of Southeast High School. In addition, three teachers with less than four years’ experience will receive the Rising Star award.
This is the 35th year for the Educator of the Year awards locally.
