The suspect in a double homicide in Collinsville is dead after being shot by an Illinois State Police trooper in Christian County.

Authorities say 32-year-old Adam Cobb killed his estranged girlfriend, Jamie Joyner, and her sister, Jessica Joyner, who was helping Jamie move out of the home she shared with Cobb.

After the killings Saturday morning, Cobb led police on a chase that ended in Pana, when authorities say Cobb got out of his car and pointed a gun at officers. The trooper, a 26-year state police veteran, then shot Cobb, who died of his wounds Sunday.
