A watchdog group is raising questions about a new ad for Republican candidate for governor Jesse Sullivan.
The ad includes statements of support from several Illinois sheriffs, who are shown in uniform and sometimes driving their official squad cars. The Edgar County Watchdogs group says the ad may violate laws that prohibit the use of government assets for political purposes.
The group says Sullivan’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.
