If you’re looking to get into the business of cannabis, new rules proposed by the Governor may make it a little easier.
After many conversations with stakeholders, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is filing rules that will simplify the cannabis dispensary license application process. The Pritzker administration says that the cannabis industry should reflect the diversity of the state, and that these business opportunities should be targeted towards communities most impacted by the war on drugs.
Under the new rules, applicants can apply online for a $250 fee and if an applicant is eligible, they must meet certain social equity criteria.
