There is a lot of great history I have learned about since I have moved to Springfield. Illinois has a rich history with a lot to offer those who appreciate it. I think its safe to say for the most part, Illinoisans love their history. So much so in fact that they will raise money from their own pockets to preserve it.
This Saturday, February 26th, from 4:30 to 9:30, Anvil & Forge is hosting an event to save a landmark. The Leland Farm Summer Kitchen has been set to be demolished. Community members have put together a fundraiser to raise money so it can stay. As of now, they are around 10,000 dollars short, but still have a good amount of time to gather funds and make it happen.
Anvil & Forge is a great community partner and I am not surprised they’re doing their part to make things happen. Do what you can to make it out this Saturday and treat yourself to some beer and pizza from a great Springfield establishment.
