Library Interim Director Hopes To Secure Bookmobile Funding

The newly-named interim director of Lincoln Library is hopeful that Springfield aldermen will include funding for a new bookmobile when they approve the new city budget later this month.

 

The library is seeking $350,000 for the purchase of the vehicle. Interim director Summer Beck-Griffith says the library will also use a portion of a million-dollar endowment to leverage as matching funds in hopes of obtaining grants to stock the bookmobile. She says the project is one of the linchpins in the effort to improve community outreach and get library services to more people across the community.
